Speech Therapy Assessment
Although "speech and language impairment" is a familiar term to most parents, they do not understand fully what it is and are unable to determine whether their children have such problems. If one or more of the following characteristics occur, your children may have speech and/or language impairment.
- Unable to speak single words at the age of two
- Unable to express with simple sentences or unclear and unintelligible speech at the age of three
- Discrepancy in receptive and expressive language abilities with peers of the same age which caused difficulties in interacting with peers
- Repetitions of words in speech (stuttering)
- Constantly hoarse and breathy voice
Our speech therapist will carry out standardized assessment to determine the kid’s language, articulation and oral motor abilities in order to provide the necessary training. In the meantime, our speech therapists will provide a comprehensive speech evaluation report to parents for reference.
Speech Therapy Training
Our speech therapists will tailor-make the speech therapy training programme, including:
- Individual training (one hour for each session)
- Parents need to be present and participate in the sessions so as to comprehend the intrinsic issue and therapy training
- Suggested home speech therapy training
- Improves children’s expressive, receptive, organization, articulation and oral motor abilities
- Enhances children’s confidence and social skills
Problems to be treated include the following: articulation problems, developmental language delay, voice problems, stuttering and social skills disabilities.
